We are off for a new year of community building and friendship and some learning about stuff 🙂 I hope.
I am going to send a calendar invite for three additional meetings this year. Sarita suggested we do some debriefing and less structured meetings as well as our planned “events.” Remember when we had a meeting the week after the epiphanies sessions. Same idea.
Here is the year thus far.

I had asked for some quotes around the value people may find in our group here and I got two responses. Of courses, I didn’t write one either… But I will. Send me your thoughts! I’ll add them here.
“The faculty and staff I meet through Teaching and Learning on the Open Web are amazing colleagues, thinking creatively about how to engage students through traditional (pencil and paper!) and modern (so many apps!) technologies. We share our experiments with each other, reflecting on what worked and how to make the techniques even more effective. So much of the engagement that is now core to my teaching philosophy comes from this cross-disciplinary group.” – Becca Price
“One thing that continues to draw me year after year (this is my eighth year in this learning community!) are authentic conversations about the open web, willingness to share, participate, experiment, get supportive critical peer feedback, and wonder about the open web in a non-threatening, non-rushed environment that does not need to have a set output from each member each year. This has been liberating for me! I feel valued and in turn value and support everyone in this cross-disciplinary community –with faculty and staff– for all that they bring to the (learning) table.” – Sarita Shukla
I am ready and excited for a new year and hope to see many of you at our gatherings. Let’s Go!
